Governor O’Malley recently accepted “Thank You” letters from the Freedom Rowers, an Eastern Shore youth rowing team that, thanks to nonprofit state tax credits, expanded their program’s community service efforts by joining with B.A.A.M. – “Building African American Minds.” The young B.A.A.M. members are pictured here. The Freedom Rowers give back to their community by teaching the B.A.A.M. members to swim, a requirement to eventually become a part of the crew team.
