Governor requests PSC investigation of Pepco storm response

August 9th, 2010

On Friday, Governor O’Malley sent a letter to the Public Service Commission calling for an investigation into Pepco’s response to the recent storm resulting in more than 300,000 power outages in late July largely in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, some for as long as five days in record heat.  Governor O’Malley wrote in part, “Customers deserve a prompt review of Pepco’s handling of these outages, as well as a more comprehensive examination of Pepco’s storm preparedness.”

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett has also reached out to the PSC with a similar request.  Read County Executive Leggett’s letter here.
