Thank you for the opportunity to serve the people of Maryland. It is the mission of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor to support Governor O'Malley and his vision for building One Maryland. To that end, the Governor has directed the office to focus our efforts in the areas of economic development, higher education and health care as well as overseeing the State's efforts to coordinate activities associated with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) program. Working together with the Governor, the Legislature and the people of Maryland, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor will work tirelessly and persistently to ensure that our residents will continue to enjoy a great quality of life.
