FREDERICK, MD (JUNE 5, 2007) -- Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown was the guest speaker today at the grand re-opening of Frederick Memorial Hospital. Along with Delegate Galen Clagett and others from the Frederick Delegation, Lt. Governor Brown was honored to participate in this momentous occasion for the hospital.
“Very few buildings represent the common good in the same sense as hospitals. Facilities like this building, which we proudly reopen today, are incredible community assets and speak to the philosophy that we are all in this together,” said Lt. Governor Brown. “Gov. O’Malley and I recognize the incredible burden that community hospitals, like this one, take on when uninsured patients walk through your doors and we commend you for your commitment to their health. We are working with both the Congressional delegation and the General Assembly to help ease that burden.”
Frederick Memorial Hospital first opened its doors in 1902. For more than 100 years, it has been caring for the healthcare needs of Frederick and its surrounding communities.
