Lt. Governor Brown Welcomes Participants at Young Fatherhood Conference Sponsored by Annie E. Casey Foundation
Baltimore (June 26, 2008) – Lt. Governor Anthony Brown joined with leaders from the Maryland Department of Human Resources and the Annie E. Casey Foundation at the annual Young Fatherhood Conference.
Brown address more than 300 young fathers, social workers and family advocates at the conference held at the New Shiloh Baptist Family Life Center in Baltimore.
The conference aimed to help young fathers become stronger, more positive role models for their children. Workshops covered topics from child support, higher education, and economic self-sufficiency to anger management and law enforcement discrimination.
The conference is part of a national initiative of the Annie E. Casey Foundation that focuses on helping fathers who are not living with their children to reconnect and share in their upbringing.
