ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 28, 2009) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown released the following statement today in support of President Obama’s nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court:
“I applaud President Obama’s nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to serve on the United States Supreme Court. Judge Sotomayor’s uniquely American story of rising from public housing in the Bronx to a nomination to our highest court is an inspiration to all Americans. Because of her real world experience, she understands that upholding the rule of law means going beyond legal theory to ensure consistent, fair, common-sense application of the law to real-world facts.”
