Statement from Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown on the Loss of Spc. Rodridgo A. Munguia Rivas
ANNAPOLIS, MD (June 23, 2009) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown released the following statement today on the loss of Spc. Rodridgo A. Munguia Rivas:
“I extend my most sincere and deepest condolences to the family of Spc. Rodridgo A. Munguia Rivas of Germantown who was killed in Afghanistan on Sunday. Spc. Rivas served his country with pride and honor as a driver with the 10th Mountain Division. His faithful and dedicated service was recognized by receiving awards and decorations including the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the NATO Medal.
“As a veteran of the Iraq war and a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, I commend the dedication of all our service members and am awed by the strength and love of their families. Their humbling sacrifice provides all of us with the freedom and liberty we cherish and their memory lives on each and every day.”
