Statement from Lt. Governor Brown Honoring Victims of September 11 Attacks

BLADENSBURG, Md. (September 11, 2009) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown released this statement today honoring the victims of the September 11 attacks:

“Eight years ago, our nation was attacked and nearly 3,000 of our neighbors and friends were killed – including 50 men and women from Maryland. As we look back on that tragic day, we remember that our nation came together to comfort one another and mourn those who perished. And while we honor those who passed, we are reminded each day that we are a strong nation with common goals and a common hope for peace.

“I echo President Obama’s call to service and hope Marylanders from across the state take time today to preserve the legacy of those innocent men and women who died for our nation. The thoughts and prayers today of every Marylander and every American are with those who died eight years ago and we can only hope that our prayers bring strength to their survivors.”
