Statement from Governor O'Malley on the Killing of Osama bin Laden
ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 2, 2011) –Governor Martin O’Malley issued this statement today following President Obama’s announcement to the nation last night that Osama bin Laden has been killed:
“This closes a sad and tragic chapter in our country and our world’s history. I commend the men and women of our Armed Forces and the dedicated public servants of our national security agencies for carrying out this dangerous mission and bringing Osama bin Laden to justice. This should be a day of reflection and prayer for a more peaceful future."
