JCRC of Greater Washington presents the 2009
Breslau-Goldman Award to Governor Martin O'Malley
June 1, 2009
Susie Gelman: Governor O'Malley, I want to thank you on behalf of our entire community. I have seen first hand how the millions of dollars you have provided to Jewish agencies have enabled them to care for and improve the lives of vulnerable populations. Thank you so much for your compassionate leadership, your stalwart friendship with the Jewish community and your incredible support for Israel.
Congratulations on receiving this well deserved honor.
Senator Barbara Mikulski: Governor O'Malley is a true friend of the Jewish community. He knows how important you are in providing the safety net for those most in need. He knows that private philanthropy also needs strong public support. And you need a government on your side.
Governor O'Malley also shares my strong support for the State of Israel, now and forever.
So hats off to Governor O'Malley, my partner in support of the Jewish community here in Maryland and around the world.
Linda Kaplan: Governor Martin O'Malley, I applaud you. For 36 years JCA was without a real and permanent home. But because of you that's changed.
On behalf of the hundreds of seniors, care-givers, volunteers and staff who benefit daily from that center's program, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Ike Leggett: There's no better recipient for this outstanding award. Not only for your strong support for our Jewish community, but for so many important issues effecting our State, for which you provide superb leadership. Congratulations.
Jeffrey Krauthamer: Thank you, Governor O'Malley, for your support of JFGH. The money was used to make our homes and offices more accessible. Thank you.
Senator Ben Cardin: Let me congratulate Governor Martin O'Malley for his valued friendship to the Maryland Jewish community.
He is a Governor who is not only a great friend of Israel, but understands our mission to help the people of our community. I congratulate JCRC for giving Governor O'Malley this highest award.
Bernice Albert: For the past five years I have participated in Community Partners, a service of the Jewish Federation. Community Partners has helped me remain in my home.
Governor O'Malley, thank you very much for your financial support for these very important services.
Abba Poliakoff: Governor O'Malley, I want to congratulate you on this well deserved honor. Thank you for your solid support of the Maryland Israel Development Center and its mission of promoting economic cooperation and development between Maryland and Israel.
Thank you and congratulations.
