Governor O'Malley Welcomes Maryland Students

Hello, I’m Governor Martin O’Malley. As you get ready for the school year, I wanted to send the students of Maryland a message to let you know that all of us – your teachers, your parents, and even your government – are thinking of you and we're counting on you to do your very best.
We need you to work hard everyday, because while we’ve made investments and the tough choices to make our public schools the best in the country, pretty soon you’ll be graduating from those schools and we'll be counting on you to become the best you can possibly be in the workforce of Maryland.
You have tremendous opportunity to succeed. We’ve done everything we can to make sure you have the books, the resources, the best teachers we can find so you can be successful. And now we’re counting on you. It’s you that must make the difference.
So study hard. Pay attention to your teachers. They only want the very best for you. And know that we love you. We need you. And we’re depending on you.
